1 – Introduction to IPv4 Addressing

Computers communicate with a standard called TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol). IPv4  Addressing is part of the TCP/IP family, it is a unique number given to a computer on network to enable the computer communicate with another computer.

For example, we human need to speak a common language before we can initiate a communication with each other.

If I speak Chinese, you need to be able to speak Chinese as well so we can communicate.

Therefore, the Chinese here is the common protocol we understand in other to enable communication take place. Same way the computers need to be configured with IP Addresses to enable them communicate.
